last.fm Recently Listened Tracks
By andy | May 13, 2009
It’s been a long time since I blogged from my soap box, so I figured I should jump back on my little wooden box and rant. Here goes…
Back in July 2008 I used to be a frequent user of the last.fm application for the iPhone, sometimes I would partake in the Love / Ban voting system but often would just go with the flow. Tracks I love appeared in my library as expected. Perfect, last.fm working how it’s intended.
As with most iPhone applications I use, their usage generally drops and they get forgotten about, until an update comes out and I’m reminded that i’ve got the application installed. After an update I’m reminded how good the application was and usage picks up again (for a week or so).
I was reminded about last.fm for one reason or another and decided I would use this very useful application once again. After filling in forgotten password forms and password resets, I’d gained access to my last.fm account. As you would expect my library was intact!! So, here goes nothing…. I click “My Library”…
My Recent Tracks – Recent…
My Recent Stations – Recent…
Recently Added to Your Library – Recent…
Recently Listened Tracks – Recent…
I’ve not listened to this track for 11 months, recently listened? I can’t even remember listening to this track, ever on last.fm. Recently Listened Tracks, recent in comparrison to what. RECENT, LISTENED?

A minor thing maybe, but it’s not recent! I’ve listened to hundreds (probably thousands) of tracks since July 2008.
Usability gone mad maybe, but this isn’t accurate. This is poor information for the user. This may have been the last track(s) I listened to on last.fm however far from recent.
I do wonder what the best way to communicate this information would be, yet I feel the word “recent” is far from correct.

Hi, courteous posts there
hold responsible’s for the compelling advice
Did you install the Last FM Scrobbler on your PC?
If you have the app installed on your computer (with the plugins for iTunes, winamp, WMP, and so on), it will show on your account all your music that you listened to.
Also, every time you connect your iPhone to the computer it will scrobble the music you listened on the iPhone.
