WordPress Trackbacks & Pings
By andy | November 24, 2007
Having had this blog for a couple of months, attempting to keep a close eye on keywords and the likes; I was looking for other ways to improve the SEO of this blog. I found a blog which looked quite informative regarding WordPress and Trackbacks. The WordPress Trackback Tutorial gave me an understanding of the power and use of using trackbacks, and believe it or not; I am using the post over on Optiniche as a test for trackbacks.
The ping functionality on this blog is now set up to ping many of the blog update services out there; Technorati, Feedster, Feedburner to name a few!
Hopefully the blog will become more popular, more readers, more comments, and maybe even updated a little more often!

Nokia n95 Barcode Reader – the future
By andy | October 22, 2007
WOW, please mark these words….
The n95 Barcode reader is a very useful tool, it will soon be used for both transferring messages between Nokia n95 users and marketing.
If you have a Nokia n95 and haven’t really checked out the barcode reader then you’re mad. It will read standard barcodes, and return numbers – cool! But is it really useful? What is useful is the ability to read QR Codes. These store much more data than our (UK) standard barcodes. They are generally used South Korea and Japan where people are more generally toward to forefront of technology. I have included one on this site, so below is a walkthrough on using the Nokia n95 barcode reader:
- Open the menu on the phone.
- Open the ‘office’ section of the menu.
- Select barcode reader.
- Open the camera and point at screen.
- Stabilise hand and focus on the QR code above.
- Hold for a second and read the message.
Impressed? I was, I really found this useful – so for the Nokia n95 readers of this blog…. I will be including more QR Codes around the site…. just for you guys!
But imagine the marketing potential… one code – not giving away too much, maybe just a URL – for the intrigued amongst us (most people) – it would be irresistible!

Ant Cartoon…
By andy | October 21, 2007
Not sure about the opinion of others, however I really like the ant cartoon as a cartoon character and feel he* could be used further too…. more on that another time!
I am not a graphic designer, far from it. I am unable to design things to look nice, however I
do know a few VERY good graphic designers, cartoon designers, and others in the creative world. At this point I would like you to visit www.will-saunders.com A mate called Will is the creator of this cartoon, he has lots of other good work you should go and look at too! Many thanks to Will Saunders.
* I know the ant world is driven by females, however the geek ant cartoon looks male (to me). So he is male, a male drone – awaiting the next nuptial flight!
